Fundraising for Mental Health Workshop

We recently published a blog on the impact on mental health on those living with a rare disease. The findings indicated that “Because of their rare disease, 95% of the respondents to the survey felt worried or anxious, 93% have felt stressed, 90% have felt low, 88% have felt emotionally exhausted and 70% have felt at breaking point”.

Ring20 recognise the importance of mental healthcare for r(20) syndrome families and we are keen to offer a more targeted support to our families through working with a professional organisation who provide counselling and wellbeing resources to rare disease patient groups.

We are delighted to share with you that we have been successful in securing funding from the Pears Foundation and London Catalyst – a huge thanks to both for supporting this important initiative.

The funding allows us to set-up virtual workshops to share experiences, explore impacts, coping strategies and find support with others. The workshops will be targeted to three distinct family groups namely, Parents/Carers, Patients and Siblings.

We are currently in the process of planning the first workshops and further details will be shared with you soon. In the meantime, if you are interested in attending one of the workshops, you can do so by registering your interest below.

We hope you see value in this important initiative and if you wish support us, you can now donate to this cause through our Donations Page.
