A chance to visit Santa…

The Sandcastle Trust – Visit Santa scheme

Under this scheme The Sandcastle Trust will send families from across the UK who are affected by rare genetic condition on a family day out to visit Santa at an attraction local to them.  For example, this could be at a zoo, farm, theme park or garden centre.

To be eligible to apply, families must contain an immediate member who has been diagnosed with a genetic condition (single gene inheritance, mitochondrial inheritance or chromosome disorder) that is rare (as defined by the UK Strategy for Rare Diseases, i.e. affects less than 5 in 10,000 of the general population).  The diagnosis must be clinically evidenced.

The Sandcastle Trust also supports bereaved families.

The UK families we support would therefore meet the eligibility criteria for this scheme.

Please find application form here:
